About me

My name is Lise (pronounced Lisa) Wildman and I have over twenty five years experience of teaching Biology, Chemistry and Combined Science in high achieving schools in the maintained and independent sector in the UK. I have a proven record of results at Common Entrance 13+, Key Stage 3; GCSE and A level.

I graduated from the University of Manchester with an BSc. Honours Degree in Biology and Chemistry, followed by a PGCE at the University of Leeds to achieve qualified teacher status. I later went on to achieve a Masters in Education, from the University of Leicester, whilst continuing to teach full time.

I have held several management roles, including Head of Biology; Head of Science; Gifted and Talented coordinator and School Challenge coordinator. In 2017 I took early retirement from full time teaching and I now teach online where I am able to nurture students into successful, confident and resilient young people who enjoy Science.

I have travelled extensively to Canada, United States of America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.

I have worked as a Science Subject Officer and more recently as a Principal Examiner for one of the major awarding bodies. This has provided an invaluable insight into the examination process and has inevitably impacted in a positive way on my own professional practice. In my examining role I wrote GCE AS examination papers and associated mark schemes, reports to centres and other support material for teachers.

When I’m not providing tuition, my dogs Jesse and Dylan keep me busy. Regular long walks with them keep me active and I particularly enjoy gardening, reading, quilting, photography and improving my stained glass window making skills. I love to experience different cultures and before Covid, I have travelled extensively to Canada, United States of America, Europe, Asia and New Zealand.
